Over 160 employees have left Go ( new easyjet)
Over the last 6 months 160 people have left Go. The number is increasing on a weekly baisis. Some have had enough others don't want to work for easyjet.
Can anyone confirm this rumour? I understand it is mainly office workers. Does anyone in HR know if this is true?
At this rate thats more than 2 people every working day. Wasn't it to be europes largest low cost airline yet 160 people want to leave?

If they are office folks, then the company will almost certainly be encourgaing folk to go. There will be a fair amount of duplication and any merged company will want to lose that as fast as possible - both to save money and to try and build a new team from those that choose to stay.
Further, office folk are less specialised and less likely to want to move from STN to LTN for the sake of the job. Just speculation based on 22 years in commerce.

Stop wasting space
What a waste of space this topic is....... of course lots are leaving - those who dont wish to work at Luton! I wouldnt move there either, if my job was relocated.
As for cabin crew, well many of the 'European' cabin crew fear that staff travel changes mean they wont be able to commute.

So it is true thanks for confirming the rumour that so many are leaving europes largest low cost airline. Perhaps you think they don't make a difference. Part of the reason for the takeover was to get hold of the wonderful team at Go and it was reported there was a job for everyone.

How much does a Ryanair and an EZ pilot make (say entry FO and CPT) ?
How much hassle is each airline in terms of legs per year, short nights, holidays, etc... ?
Do they offer staff travel fares ?
The idea in the rest of Europe is that Ryanair is a much worse airline to fly for than Easyjet (not to mention British Airways) and many pilots want to stay away from it and are confident that as soon as the market will go up again, no pilots will ever want to fly Ryanair aircraft anymore (work conditions, bases, CEO's behavior, salary/hour, salary, social security, pensions schemes, etc...) In short, they feel Easyjet could be a nice airline to work for as opposed to Ryanair which looks more like a health and private life breaker.

I havent confirmed any numbers, but it was a foregone conclusion, that moment eJ announced that Luton would be the site of the 'new' HQ, that many Go staff wouldnt commute, let alone relocate.
There is 'a' job for everyone at the new eJ, but it may not be the job they were doing til now, nor one they want to do. So some attrition at a time like this is perfectly expected, and not 'news'.

The SOLE reason for the takeover was to make more money. Buying your primary competitor is a good way to start. Once you have done that, you integrate the two and lose the surplus. Everyone knows that this will happen and all try to make it work to their advantage.
It happens every day, in every country in the world, in every line of business.

For what it's worth, I have written to EZY 7 times over the last 2 years enquiring about vacancies in Ops or Crewing. To date, no reply has been received. I even bumped into Stelios on LTN's ramp last year and asked him what the policy was on recruiting experienced staff. He said "just write in to the Ops Manager and see what happens". I told him that for a company who is always looking for experienced staff, they have a strange way of recruiting and a very inpolite and unproffesional way of dealing with enquiries. His reply......"keep trying". I came to the conclusion very rapidly that with that sort of mentality, I'm better off keeping away from so called dynamic companies like that. A simple "thanks but no thanks" letter would have been acceptable but to get nothing in response to several e-mails and letters is just ignorant. No wonder staff are leaving.
