Jumpseat Possibilities
On my way to flight school in Florida, wondering if any ATP students are having any luck getting into the jump seat up front? I understand a friendly note with copies of passport, ID, and pilot certificate can increase chances. Any stories?

Despite the fact that I would like to help you as would a lot of other guys your chances of a jumpseat are Nill , not at all , no way and zero.
If I did give you a chance on the jumpseat I would be out of a job , please understand that according to the DOT I am not to be given a jumpseat if I am not on duty.
These idiots at the DOT think that i am not a security risk when I am in command of an aircraft but become one when I am off duty !.
The whole security situation has become one big game of CYA whitout any rime or reason !.

As A&C says, you will not get a flight deck jump seat with any airline at all, especially inbound to, or internally within, the USA. Forget it, and enjoy the service down the back.
