Exclamation Aviators of the World - Unite

How many of you belong to a pilot association/union

1-when you were a student and
2-when in full employment?

Am asking this question as I see the aviation industry very fragmented from a professional point of view (pilot side) compared to airlines (airline associations). Given the cost of training (nowadays self funding to the tune of GBP100k a piece) and heavy regulation, the fragmentation is playing up in the hands of the airlines who unscrupulously come up with maverick ways and means of fleecing anyone weak enough not to speak up and seek legal and trade union protection.
