Terrain Floor

Most of EGPWS’ uses a floor called “Terrain Floor” or “Terrain Clearance Floor”. I made a research about it and I found those;

- “Terrain floor varies with distance and altitude to nearest airport”
- “The Terrain Clearance Floor (TCF) function warns of a premature descent below this floor, regardless of aircraft configuration”

I understand from those when we desced below this floor, we get a warning even if A/C is in landing configuration.
My question it that “Is this floor used only for this? Does it have other functions?”

Thanks in advance
