B738 Engine Failure on app and subsequent goaround

Hi

If due to speed decay you have to go from F30 to F15 and add trust and then set bred plus 20 on what you had before.

Then if you go around due you maintain F15 or then go F1?

I guess hold F15 max go around thrust (two clicks) and limit angle if bank for manoevring.

Thanks

If you have achieved and stabilised at the +20 kts use F1.

Rough guide.

Ref 30/40 = V2F15. Therefore Vref 30 + 20 = V2 F15 +20. (This will be about Vref15 +5.)

Vref15 = V2 F1. Therefore at GA you will be V2F1 +5ish. i.e. <V2+15

Therefore you will be 15degree BA limited until a F1 speed.

If you GA from Vref 30 and select F15 then you are at V2F 15 and limited BA applies until above F15 bug.

But then what do your instructors advise?

Our 738s were certified for flaps 30 landings on one engine (including autoland) so the normal go around procedure applied, no difference than for all engines operating. Keep it simple.
