Difference in airway
Hi,
Sometimes I see Airways like UM321 and U321. I would like to know what is the difference between them?
MEA and MAA are same, so why there are two airways? I know "U" meaning Upper but we can use U321!
Thanks

U = Upper (as you mentioned)
M = Area Navigation Route that forms part of the regional ATS network
It is likely that U321 is the traditional airway comprised of two ground aids while UM321 is the same airway, utilizing RNAV, a component of which may be ground aids.
