Thumbs up How important is your "performance"....

in passing ATPL theory, GFT, IR etc?

i.e. When you were interviewed was it of over-riding importance that an applicant had achieved first time passes in everything?

A thread that I read recently touched upon the importance of firstime passes, and I am now starting to think about giving up as I cannot change the past...

I had to resit 2 ATPL subjects, passed the CPL GFT second time around and got a partial in my IR. Now a "frozen" ATPL with CPL/IR.

Plus points (there are two!), Her Maj's airforce gave me 3300 hours of non-pilot flightime - the relevence here being the "learning" of "awareness" and "airmanship". Elusive attributes...

Second plus, I did pass the RAF Pilot aptitudes - but failed their medical. (Still hold a Class 1 tho')

Finally, I wish you all the very best in these difficult times. Hang in there guys.

Hold on....don't give up.

First time passes are irrelevant. The ONLY fact that matters is that you achieve the required standard. EVERYONE has a 'bad day at the office' from time to time.

Many years ago doing my ATPL I had to re-sit 1 or 2 exams and, believe me, it doesn't matter.

When you late apply for jobs the only thing that matters is that you hold the required qualifications and can demonstrate the required knowledge/skills at interview/assessment.

Hang in there!
