The future for LGW?
With the way things are in the industry at the moment and the likely effects this will have in coming years, is the future of LGW a low cost and charter operation only - given the considerable problems that BA are facing there?
I know there are plenty of other scheduled airlines there at the moment, but is it just BA that can't make LGW work or are they also having problems with their LGW operations?
Just interested - I believe that Cityflyer Express made considerable profit there in recent years so it must be possible - although that was pre September 11th.

Yes, CityFlyer Express used to make a good profit at LGW: increasing profits and percentage profits each year since about year 2 of the operation. However the significant event for CFE was not Sept 11, but integration with BA. We're now just a little part of the "reported" BIG BA loss at LGW.
Mind you, accountants can make anything make a loss if necessary.
Lies, Damn lies and Statistics - and all that !
