Question Flying near Boston MA

It looks like I shall be kicking my heels over a w/e somewhere between Boston MA and Hartford CT in mid March. Does anyone have any recommendations where I might be able to indulge in a little interesting light aviation in that area?

Any suggestion would be gratefully appreciated.

Sorry I can't help with any personal recommendations, but try the www.beapilot.com website's "Finding a Flying School" link. This allows you to search by US state for Flying Schools participating in the Be A Pilot program. The listings include links to the school's web sites if the school has one. At least you can get started this way.. . . . [ 04 March 2002, 18:49: Message edited by: tacpot ]

Pulse1. .. .Plenty of choice in the area, there are plenty of schools in the area. You could try Millionaire at Hartford Brainard, Worcester MA has a school I believe and also check out Coastal Air/Action at Groton, CT (very good, friendly school). Being the NE though you have to expect higher prices than eg. Florida and California - expect to pay about $80 per hour for a warrior plus about 30 per hour if you need an instructor.. . . . [ 04 March 2002, 19:05: Message edited by: The Greaser ]

Cape Cod Flying Circus at Chatham aiport (Mid Cape) had a Great Lakes biplane when I was over there a couple of years ago: also a couple of very tidy C172s for hopping across to Nantucket and the Vineyard.. .. .Enjoy!

F3G,. .. .Many thanks for that one. I think I will arrange another w/e in that area when the weather is warmer. Sounds fascinating.. .. .Flatspin,. .. .Last time I was in LA I managed a bit of formation flying in a Stearman at Chino. Sunrise looks very good and I think I might see if I can arrange a spot of dual night flying with them. Many thanks for your interest.. .. .Pulse1
