Can airline pilots supply their own shirts in preference to wearing what’s issued?
In addition, can pilots choose between short and long sleeve, or is this decided for them as well?
Many thanks

I was once given the advice to always insist on having long sleeved shirts even if you really wanted short sleeved ones.
That way you get two free handkerchiefs with every one.

My lot gave me 9, my choice as to long or short sleeved. As they probably all come from the same few manufacturers, it won't make any difference to work if you do buy and wear your own. But if the company is paying for them, why would you want to?
