Question Is it possible?

Having a (UK) JAR CPL/IR ME, is it possible to get, let's say a QFI license or a type rating issued by another JAA state?

Thanks

I'm afraid I can't give you exact aswers to your question but what I was told by the instructor at my JAR-course was that the part of the idea about JAR and JAR-FCL is that you can use your certificates in all JAA compliant countries. But to issue one it must be done by the state or country that you're from. Another question was raised about a coutry sending a student to complete his training in another JAA-coutry was that the country in which he did his traing would be responsible for issuing a certificate. But then this would be conflicting since it is the country of your own nationality that is responsible issuing your certificate.

Reading this post probably made it even more confusing, sorry. But still the best way to find out would be to call the CAA in your country and find out. They are the ones that are JAA-compliant and therefore should know the rules.

Good Luck.
