Noise cancelling headsets/ Warning sounds
With regard to electronic noise cancelling headsets, and indeed noise attenuating headsets, I was curious about how volume of warning sounds is affected.. .Are the sounds fed into the headset or are they only produced by a speaker in the cockpit?. .I ask as a prospective ppl with some hearing loss.

I have no problems at all with our ANR headsets. Aural warnings on the airbus are generated by flight deak speakers, not channelled through the headsets, and are clearly audible. There have been isolated complaints within my company about the level of noise attenuation and the possiblity of missing an aural warning, but generally there are plenty of visual attention-getters to more than compensate for this. Off course some people will complain about anything! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />
