I have no problems at all with our ANR headsets. Aural warnings on the airbus are generated by flight deak speakers, not channelled through the headsets, and are clearly audible. There have been isolated complaints within my company about the level of noise attenuation and the possiblity of missing an aural warning, but generally there are plenty of visual attention-getters to more than compensate for this.
