Hypnosis - allowed?
Evening all,
I was just wondering if there are any rules on hypnosis when it comes to flying. There's a (non-aviation-related) course I'm interested in that has hypnosis as a part of it, but I'm sure I remember seeing a question years ago on the BA sponsorship application form, saying that you're not allowed to have been hypnotised in the past.
Anyone in the know?
Cheers

There's a danger that one of the interviewers clicks his fingers and you take your clothes off and start doing the funky chicken, isn't there..? Isn't there?
Well, no, there isn't.
Seriously, hypnotism is a complex field that goes far beyond stage antics and quitting smoking. I would be slightly more concerned what the course is about, and why you want or need to do it.
If you need proper advice, contact Gordon Turnbull via The Priory; he uses some relevant techniques in his work (and he deals with aviation professionals, both military and civvy). However, he's very busy and may not be willing to answer such questions without a face-to-face discussion at his normal rates...
As to the regulatory aspect, no, I'm not aware of any implications.
