A320 MCDU Settings

Probably going to get slammed for admitting it but I am a flightsimmer trying to get the best out of the A320 family I have bought.

If I wanted to divert for any reason to an ILS equiped airport how would I setup the MCDU ?

I do this at present (and i appreciate the RW MCDU may differ in function)

Flick to the RAD/NAV page and dial in the ILS freq and course
Put the MCDU into the 'App' phase
Click the ILS button on the panel.

This sound about right ?

For real you would change the destination to the new diversion airport. Then select the ILS approach from the approach page. This will autotune the ILS for the approach. We would normally only manually the tune the ILS if it wasn't in the database. Hope this helps.

Longarm you star. That is where I was going wrong and might explain why the a/c was throwing itself all over the sky in managed mode.

I had the destination set to one airport and was trying to autoland into another.

Thanks.
