Runway Cross Sections
Hi Guys,
Ok I am currently doing a Masters Civil Engineering Project on the redesign of a hub sized international airport, been looking through various documents but struggling to find something that gives me "standards" for the design of the runway itself... this would include base layers for "foundation" and types of materials used. Is anyone able to help me out at all, what would be useful is if someone could point me in the right direction to find a design manual for this or able to provide me such a manual in PDF format maybe?
Cheers
Nick

Nope not managed to find a copy of Annex 14, unless I am just looing in the wrong places... been trying to find it today regarding REAS and EMAS. Because its a student project I don't have access to all the design manuals I would expect to in a specialist practice... do you have a link to Annex 14? I'll PM you this to.
Thanks

google "guide to airfield pavement design evaluation" for lots of useful stuff. In the UK you'll need CAP 168 and 683 for background and "A guide to airfield pavement design and evaluation" from Defence Estates.
