I'm very curious about old style navaids, Decca, omega, consul, still waiting for an old book on the subject to arrive, I love historical development in aeronautics especially from 1919 onward
With the current ability for one country in particular-NOW!!! [unnamed for int'l PC] to shoot down our Navstar constellation we may have to reinstate some of these old method-perhaps expand Loran-C coverage: though some longe range polar flights such as Antarctic region still require a navigator.
WAAS, LAAS and GPS are [or will be] wonderful, but I believe the FAA should think twice about its fury to phase out the VORTACs, NDBs and ILS's, although for the FAA 10 years is like microsecond
