Sky marshals?

Do we have Sky Marshals operating in the UK on commercial flights ?

I'm meant to be teaching my Travel & Tourism students about them tomorrow!

I remember being informed whilst I was still flying as cabin crew, post 9/11, that they would be introduced. I just wondered if it was common knowledge or a 'perhaps' situation.

I can't understand why one would have to teach students about Air Marshalls other than to say that they may or may not be on board... That doesn't take long.
