Caravan Operators

Hi All.

Could anyone inform me of Cessna Caravan operators in the UK.

I will be job hunting in the UK come April with about 700 hours on type.

Thanks in advance.

very few

Fisheries Protection operates two.

That leaves another twelve or so, full stop.

Try web search on

http://www.caa.co.uk plus G-INFO

Not a popular type I'm afraid.

Only 6 on the UK register sadly. Are you sure about the Fisheries, I thought they used D228s?

try oz

A goodly sprinkling of 208's and 208B's in Oz but I think the UK FPA and FPB are actually F406 twins and not 208s.

Fisheries aircraft are twin caravan's aka F406. Operated by Highland Airways, who also operate the F406 in a freight/pax role. Atlantique use the 406 in an MCA pollution patrol role.
Spanish, you're thinking of MAFF who use the 228 for surveillance.
edge do you mean the twin or single caravan? There are no commercial IFR operators of singles in the UK.

G-EELS at Staverton

Oh, and if you do a search here:

http://www.caa.co.uk/application.asp...pplicationid=1

(type caravan into the aircraft type box)

you\'ll see there are 14 on the UK register.

God they\'re ugly things! Why on earth would someone design such a massive aircraft and not even put retractable gear on it!

Great Aeroplanes....cdb, fixed undercarraige for simplicity and ruggedness. Plus you can put a tonne and a half in them....fly 400Nms at 170kts...deposit your load..fill up fly back...all for 1400lbs of gas.

Edge, I flew 2 at a parachute school for a bit..send me a PM and I'll forward the details
