Dont hold your breath

Bluebaron,

I applied and my CV hit their desks 2 weeks before closing date. I have heard nothing at all, no acknowledgement, not even a 'no thanks'. I know that their interviewing starts WC 11/11/02, and I understand it actually starts today.

Mate, give the HR mob a ring and check to make sure they recieved your application. Maybe it got lost in the post or has fallen down the back of a desk. If you had the minimun hours I am certain they would have replied to you. They seem to be very good at correspondence until they they dont want you anymore.

:(

Britannia Correspondence

Applied mid October. Enquired by e-mail last week and got politely told that they hadn't finished selecting for interview. Received my rejection letter today. :( Got no problems with how I was dealt with, even though I was unsuccessful.

Bluebaron 15th November 2002 15:18

Was told that selection for interview times/dates will be today and letters will go out today or at the latest Monday. For those pilots not in the pool it will be standard interview/sim and for Hold pool just interview.

Anyone know course dates/numbers required etc?

Regarding the sim ride, things seem to have changed a little between the time the last letter was written and the one about to be sent.

MAX 17th November 2002 08:49

The dates of the 26 and 27 are a definate for the holdpool guys. Despite the recent letter, some of us WILL have to do a sim ride. Seems like some NOT in the holdpool will also be using sim the same day and the suggestion was that 2 of us would be in the sim at the same time for approx 1 and 1/2 hrs!! Not sure if your currency has anything to do with it, as Im current on jets and still penned in for the sim. So expect a surprise this week.

Has anybody heard anything yet?

Bluebaron 20th November 2002 13:32

not me

AMEX 20th November 2002 14:02

Nor me

Oh well I ll be spending spending a few days at LGW next week so if it isn't for an interview, it will be a good opportunity to catch up with a few mates.

MAX 20th November 2002 16:16

Fingers crossed the guys/gals who had start dates last year get called up before the latest batch off new unrated recruits. The whole things stinks if someone has been swimming for 3 years and then gets shafted by a newbie. No offence to newbies.

I actually spoke with HR and they confirmed my date, time and sim. They also promised the letter would be in the mail Monday. Still no letter.

;) no sim ride for me MAX but it's confirmed, I ll be there. Still if u need to brush up, i propose a meeting in the Pub before hand :D

BronzeAge 22nd November 2002 08:33

Alright lads, I,m going to be there on the 26th in the afternoon.......without a sim ride!!!!

Maybe I'll see you there.

Cheers BronzeAge:D

Bluebaron 22nd November 2002 09:43

yep me too. No sim ride also, which is good i suppose, besides i did pretty well last time around. If anyone wants to meet up on the 26/27th let me know.

BB ;)

Bluebaron 26th November 2002 08:18

Good luck to everyone on their interviews today.;)

MAX 27th November 2002 08:29

What was that about?

What does everyone think of that then? Interviews ranged from 20min to a blistering 6!!! I was lanced on the sim a lot more than last time too. Heres one for the records:

'We are 100% committed to getting all the holdpool guys onto courses. Unless of course someone typre rated comes along'

BronzeAge 27th November 2002 16:35

Hope that I wasn't singled out.....my interview lasted 35 minutes.

Hey MAX, why did you have to hop in the sim and others didn't?

Cheers all;)

MAX 28th November 2002 07:38

I dont work very hard.

It would seem I did the sim as, although I'm employed and current, I havent dont enough flying to hit whatever 'hour' mark they find acceptable. It was all very relaxed in a good cop/bad cop kind of way.
