Cost effective FI courses?

Cost effective FI courses?
Does anyone know of a school (anywhere) which runs JAR Flight Instructor courses for less than the usual £5-6,000? Is it feasible or cost effective to get a South African FI rating and convert it?

As I understand it ( and am quite ready to be corrected ) if you have a foreign FI rating you will still need to do the full course to become a JAA FI.
Probably £5000 is about as cheap as you will get. Watch out about getting a too cheap course, it is better to pay a bit more and get the rating from a decent school so you don't let yourself or more importantly future students down.

MVE, I just checked out EFT, not at the link you have posted but at www.europeanflighttraining.com (same place?) and they are showing $6050 for the 4 week FI(R) course. Throw in travel and accomodation and you'll be approaching the £5000 mark anyway 
Might as well do the course at home.

The most important thing in choosing a course is to make sure that it is being done properly and that you are getting ALL the grondschool. The schools that look too cheap may not give you much, if any, and getting a job afterwards may be difficult. Remember to check the reputation of the FIC instructor by asking around before you commit. You should be getting 125 hours ground school in a structured and supervised manner, not having a book thrown at you and being left to get on with it.
Also worth asking if they take on their trainees afterwards. There are jobs in instructing at the moment!!

FI courses
Try The flight centre at wolverhampton, the instructor for the FI courses is very experienced, has been doing them for years.
www.hgfc.co.uk or try C& S aviation Chris Caine a CAA commercial examiner at the same airfield does FI courses. Both have good reputations

Did my FI course with Chris Caine, did well over the minimum ground school hours. Very experienced Instructor and Flight Examiner.
Mike Robbins is the man at The Flight Centre. Another very experienced Instructor. You won`t go far wrong with either school at Wolverhampton.
