licence cost
Hi,
Could someone tell me the exact cost to pay the CAA to issue my frozen ATPL. I currentlly have a PPL with an IMC and want to add a ME CPL/IR with an MCC certificate.
Thanks for your help.

Hi - wait til you have passed your ME/IR before sending your paperwork for licence issue, since the IR issue is free of charge if it's made at the same time as the CPL issue (just as the IMC issue was free of charge if done simultaneously with the PPL issue). The CPL issue was £167 in December, but you'd better check with Cash And Agro themselves in case their fees have gone up (yet again).
MCC - they don't really want to hear about it until you have to "unfreeze" (i.e. issue) your ATPL.
Cheers.

All of the CAA's charges are available on its website, just go to the Flight Crew Licensing General Information page and click on - guess what - Scheme of Charges. There you will find:
For the grant of a Commercial Pilot licence (Aeroplane), Commercial Pilot licence (Helicopter), Airline Transport Pilot licence (Aeroplane), and Airline Transport Pilot licence (Helicopter) including an initial type rating and instrument rating valid for 5 years ............. £185
You will not find a charge for the 'frozen' ATPL because no such licence exists. The CAA will not be in the least bit interested either in your MCC certificate, you won't need that until you apply for your first type rating on a multi-pilot aeroplane when the Type Rating Training Organisation will wish to see it before they commence your training.
