Yet another Visa Question(J1).....sorry!

Does anyone here have 1st hand experience of J1 visa application.

I have gleaned conflicting information (surprise) about the number of hours you are allowed in order to be eligible for a J1.

Some say 50hrs post PPl pass is allowed others say 100hr TT is the max, and I'm right between the 2.

Any advice warmly received.

Oh yes, how long does it all take to get sorted??

Thanks for your help!

Well it is confusing and you may not get same answers because the State Dept approves each school indiviually for the J-1 Visa.

The general consensus is that you are an untrained pilot and that has various interpretations. Some school view this as anything less then a FAA CPL some see that as zero flight time.

See if the school has a refund policy for visa denials or how much you would loose for giving it a shot..no school can guarantee you will get the visa as it will all depend on the interviewing officer at the consulate. Even then it doesnt guarantee you to enter the US as the FINAL authority is the immigration officer at the point of entry to the US...

Oh yea..and wear comfortable shoes...the cue at the US consulate could be 3-5 hrs long
