Question Bush piloting and ferry piloting....

I always was one to read the "Misc." section....

I'm a wanna be, but I didn't know what i wann-ed to be. Then I thought to myself "why not be a pilot-for-hire?" And I whittled down to two ideas, Bush pilot or ferry pilot.
So, what are they like? How much would the training cost? Is it good fun? Dangerous? Please enlighten me, any ferry pilots or bush pilots out there...

Yeah I was a bush pilot for a while. Top fun but hard work. I flew in the Kimberley region of Western Australi.

Hey Nose Indiana Groond,

Why don't you check out the African forum. That site has a lot of really useful information on bush flying and makes fascinating reading.

I have managed to glean from the forum that a popular place to start bush flying in Africa for many low (ish) hour wannabes is Maun in Botswana. Perhaps a search under "aid flying" or "medevac" would be fruitful.

I hope you find out some info' as this is the area of flying that I would love to try. Also try:

<a href="http://www.zimex.com" target="_blank">Zimex Aviation's Website</a>

This is a bush flying company and although you nead a lot of hours to fly for them it is another string to the bow.
