Post Bush pilot

I am thinking of becoming a bush pilot. Can anyone tell me if most African countries recognise the JAR ATPL licence.

Many thanks

Yes, most if not all will recognise it, however a conversion will often be required. In Botswana for instance, you will be required to do a Law Exam, a medical, flight test and 50hrs before being allowed to be P1

South Africa CAA will require a lot more depending on your hours.

I would suggest posting this on the African forum.

Check out the SA's CAA website for more details on foreign license conversions on www.caa.co.za
