Why am I not surprised at this story that appeared in today's local rag.. .Anyone who has applied for the "free PPL" cadetships" should consider it carefully.. . . .. .Airport firm flies into new cash crisis . .Mar 11 2002. .. .A COMPANY which took over the running of Caernarfon Airport last year is being chased by Gwynedd Council for nonpayment of rates.. .. .Caernarfon Airpark Ltd owes Gwynedd Council more than £13,700.. .. .A Gwynedd Council spokeswoman said: "On February 25 at the Caernarfon Magistrates Court a liability order was obtained against Caernarfon Airpark Ltd for £13,719.. .. ."This sum includes court costs. "The order was obtained for the nonpayment of non-domestic rates.". .. .A legal expert said the order gave the council legal powers to recover money owed to them.. .. .He said: "It is likely they will request information about the company's finances.. .. ."The council can apply to the County Court for a legal charge to be put on property for the amount due.. .. ."The council also has the power to start bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings against companies which owe money.". .. .News of the liability order comes just months after another company associated with the airport crashed with debts running into tens of thousands of pounds.. .. .Billypickles Ltd took over the running of the airport from Coventrybased Air Atlantique two years ago but ceased trading on March 30 last year.. .. .The following day Caernarfon Airpark Ltd took over the running of the airport.. .. .Both companies are run by 39-yearold Ian Sixsmith.. .. .Documents obtained by the Daily Post show Mr Sixsmith and Stefanie Pincham to be the sole directors of Billypickles and Caernarfon Airpark Ltd.. .. .The latest accounts for Caernarfon Airpark shows the company had more £153,000 in assets and cash in February last year.. .. .The couple are also directors of Systems and Research, a computer software company whose registered office is at Caernarfon Airport. Mr Sixsmith is also a director of Caernarfon Aircraft Maintenance, which is also based at the airport.. .. .In November 2000, the Daily Post revealed the airport was closed to training and passenger flights after its operating licence was not renewed.. .. .Only private flights were allowed until the beginning of March, while the Civil Aviation Authority gave the airport time to put its safety measures in order before issuing a new licence.. .. .Last July, Dragon Air Charter was set up by Mr Sixsmith to operate flights from Caernarfon to Cardiff but these flights are no longer advertised.. .. .Caernarfon Air Park's website notes pleasure flying from the aiport is to restart next month and a major air show is being planned for late July.. .. .The company has also been advertising flying training courses in specialist flying magazines in recent weeks and offering flying cadetships.. .. .Mr Sixsmith last night refused to discuss details of the company's debts with the Daily Post.
