ICAO to JAR conversions
Merry Christmas to you all,
I'm shortly going to be completing my South African CPL/IR and I have always had half a mind to convert it to a JAR licence. Earlier this year the rules changed making it less of a pain to do the IR course.
I was just having a look at the Oxford website http://www.oxfordaviation.net/oxford...cpl_con_uk.htm
and I quote:
Holders of existing ICAO Professional (ATPL & CPL) Pilot Licences and Instrument Ratings may enrol on shortened courses of approved ‘Conversion’ training, subject to the FTO being satisfied that an appropriate syllabus of training is being followed.
This page makes no mention of the 14 ATPL theory subjects so my question is does one have to pass 14 exams or does the fact that you have an ICAO CPL dispense of this requirement. Can't seem to find anything on the CAA's or JAA's sites.
Thanks.
