Practice Test

Pheww! I also scored 121. I'm preparing my BA application at the moment - anything lower would have smashed any confidence I have remaining. Just how vague are the application questions regarding responsibility, communication skills, team working etc. As for asking for examples of perseverance, I think If you manage to fill in the first three questions you haven't done badly !
Anyone have any comments on the questions from the BA form?

Well, I'm nearly as clever with our teacher's pet Driver Jake, with a perfectly rectangular 124.
Some of the questions seem to rely on prior knowledge though, rather than reasoning skills. A little unfair, perhaps - especially if, for instance, you've never heard of 'ENGLAND'.
[Sorry Luke - Not being sarcastic about the anagram thing - It's just an example of how it's not a fair test of reasoning.]

When I was a wee nipper I had a government psychologist out to see me who concluded I was carrying an IQ of 147 around!
Now, I know that can't be true (believe me...which way's North?!?...Doh!)
So what the bluddy hell has gone wrong between then and now?
Nothing. The tests are a useful approximation but nothing more than that.
Are people so insecure anyway, that they need to look at test banks for feedback on their mental abilities?
Its clear most people on the site are pretty switched on....best to just relax and be happy with the brainpower you've got.
Jean Todt, Sporting Director of Ferrari, has the ability to multiply 4 figure numbers at better speed than human+calculator. People have different skills.
Doing these tests wont improve the real mental processing you have available, and to the people who argue they will: "How can IQ be a reliable yardstick of a person's intelligence?"
They will prepare you for similar questions in future tests, thats all.
Rant over, and no offence to the original poster

Looks like I am going to take up the rear end of you all. I scored a low 102....... but this was after a couple of red wines and at about 2 am local time.
I have sat an IQ tests before and scored 128 so I will try the test when I wake up in the morning

Interesting test - I managed 127 last night, after a particularly mind-numbing Orlando-Gatwick sector and 2 hours on the M25 - but, as far as I can see, absolutely no relevance to any interview procedures I can remember. In any case, other than being fit, alert and awake (and with some attention to detail), there's little you can do to influence the results of such a test. Anything over 100 is probably sufficient for any current aircrew job!

Contrary to what all my teachers used to say to me, there must be something filling the inside of this thick skull of mine....got 118 first time round.
Might give it another go and see if it tallies up
[Edited as a result of bad spelling - maybe they were right after all!]
