Angry Steps to a frozen ATPL

From what I gather the modular steps to getting a frozen ATPL are:

1. PPL
2. Hours building to 150
3. ATPL ground exams
4. CPL
5. IR
(6. MCC)

Where does a multi-engine rating come into this? Is it a relic of the past? Do most CPL courses include multi? If I did a non-multi CPL, would I then have to do a separate ME? What is the most economic way to go?

Take a look at Multiflight web site
www.multiflight.co.uk - they have a clear diagram to explain what you need to do.
Good luck!
