Question Constructive Hrs with ATPL Theory

Hey Y'all! I've got 75hrs and am considering starting distance learning course as well as getting night and IMC rating, should take me a year to 18 months to get 100 hrs and ATPL theory.
Can anyone think of any significant disadantages to this, and also considered Hrs building on twins in states as part of 50ish Hrs needed for commercial (based on OATS feedback from airlines saying more twin Hrs were desirable) Is this a good or a bad idea?
