Start of flying career.
Looking bit of advice on the modular route to becoming an Airline Pilot in UK.
Im from Northern Ireland and the flight school options are limited here. I have a flight school close by to attain my PPL. However I’m looking advice to progress forward. What’s the next step after your PPL ? Any recommendations in flight schools etc ? What’s the best route to get into the airlines through the modular route?
Thanks!

Make sure its a class one (for commercial flying) and not a class two (for private flying). Don't let anyone convince you that you only need a class two initially (which is actually true). The class one is VERY in depth and many people have passed a class two, completed their flight training and then failed a class one for an undiagnosed issue.
You need to know that you can pass before you spend a penny on flight training.

Top advice, to which I would add aptitude testing. Too many schools are happy to take students’ cash, even when it’s obvious that they have little to no chance of making it to an airline seat. And schools that do offer aptitude testing have a very obvious interest in telling you it’s the perfect career choice.
Have a look at airpilots.org
They offer independent, unbiased assessments and are not trying to sell you anything. From direct experience, it’s a great confidence booster to know you’ve got a good chance of succeeding, and the cost is peanuts compared to how much you’ll be spending on commercial training. It’s money well spent.

Better yet, find and download the Class 1 medical requirements.
Take a good look at them.
Are you close to any of the minimums and maximums ? Then go see you friendly GPamd request what there’ll probably call a yearly physical with emphasis on the Class 1 medical requirements.
Reason for all of this paranoia….once you’re rejected for a Class 1 medical you’re in this Kafkaesque nightmare of trying to get it resolved.
