Egnatia vs FTE Jerez?

Hi guys,

I'm seriously considering these two flight schools. I have passed the Egnatia selection test and have applied for their ATPL + Bachelors Degree Program in Aviation Management with the American College of Thessaloniki. For FTE Jerez I am yet to do the selection test but plan on doing it soon.

Anyways, what is it like in Egnatia and FTE Jerez? I have heard mostly good things about Egnatia except for the occasional issues with management? Also, what is life like in Kavala/Thessaloniki? Would greatly appreciate some feedback from someone that has experience of going there. My same questions apply for FTE Jerez, in terms of life, quality of instruction, etc. Price wise they're both similar at around 110K euros, which is a lot but I am willing to invest.

What would be the best choice moving forward?

Thanks

I'm also in Qatar and applying to these courses, just had a call with Egnatia but I'm not 100% sure if they're good. Everyone seems to have different reviews, and FTE seems the only one w/o any of them so far. However, it's insanely expensive so idk...

Hello, also been interested in Egnatia for a while, what are your thoughts ? Many people told me they are a corrupt school and not a safe school. Thank you in advance!

From What I'm hearing from an increasing number of people, this sadly true. If at all, its only for people enrolled in the cadet programs of the companies Egnatia has contracts with, and even in this case choosing them is questionable at best. From what I heard even their instructors are leaving left and right. People should definitely steer clear from this as well as similar schools by miles.

Hello can you ellaborate on what you mean when you write that "choosing them is questionable at best". Just checking out schools and I've heard some contradicting stuff about Egnatia, although some personal aquaintances had some bad stuff to report about them. I am also interested in Information about Flyence in Greece, and FlyBy in Portugal, any information about those guys would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, has anyone from this thread joined the Egnatia/ACT program? If so, please let me know so we can get in touch, I'm interested in finding out more about your experiences so far.

Thanks a lot!

Hey,
Although I don't know a lot about their combined Egnatia/ACT program, other than flipping through the brochure, i'd stay away from it.
Although for things like that it really boils down to peoples situation, Time as well as Money wise, so I'm sure it can work for some people, after having done some research into Egnatia, i.e. talking to people who where there, and among the reports hearing quite a few horror stories, I certainly wouldn't give them my money.
Not withstanding, it doesn't mean it couldn't be a suitable program for people, but based on my personal experience with a couple of schools, and hearing about the shady way Egnatia in particular deals with its students I can only advise on a hard pass.
This program is mostly just a money grab, tying people in to a scheme they can't get out of. If anybody is considering an ATP License with a Bachelors degree, there are far better options out there.
There where quite few organisations in Germany having programs like that, if i remember the Technical University of Aachen was offering A BSc in Aeronautical Engineering with an option for an added ATPL. Either way if a BSc BA or any other academic degree to accompany an ATPL is of interest to anybody, going modular is certainly the way to go, since an academic degree combined with an ATP license is a more long term commitment anyhow, and most importantly you are not tied to a school long term in case you are not happy with them.
Anyhow hope this is helpful,
Cheers
