Ryanair/ASL Ireland Mentored Programme- Atlantic Flight Training Academy Acad

Hi all,
Im currently considering an integrated path at Atlantic Flight Training Academy Cork and im planning for the assessment, im unsure about whether to chose the Ryanair or Asl programme, is ryanair the obvious choice? If so what are the general consensus about such Airline mentored integrated programmes?

Thanks everyone for any info

why don't you do the standard ATPL? AFTA are a great school so I reckon you'd have a good shot at other airlines if you do well. with RyanAir, you still need to pay for your TR at the moment. having said that, maybe wait until the new RyanAir partners are announced as ab-initio/gateway 1 get bonded, albeit at a potentially more expensive course price? You information here is incorrect! AFTA will offer the updated Ryanair cadet program from this summer. The costs will not increase as the type rating is not provided by AFTA, it’s provided by Airline Flight Academy in Dublin which is not connected to AFTA.

apologies, I was speculating! honestly, im a bit surprised that RYR are investing into cadet pilots with the bonds. I thought they had an already high recruitment level, or maybe they're just growing exponentially at the moment. regardless, this makes the RYR partners even more appealing for the mentored courses.

No problem! I was surprised myself tbh. But apparently RYR are going to heavily invest in cadets to fulfil future positions. I have contacted AFTA about this and they told me that the type rating bonded or not has nothing to do with what they provided. They didn’t explicitly state that prices would remain the same but their answer suggested it.

It seems to me they're trying to stop FOs from leaving right after line check 1...
