ACS Flight Training
Hi all, long time lurker first time poster here!
I’m looking for any information or reviews that people might want to share regarding ACS in Perth, Scotland. I’m looking into the potential of doing their “Fast-track” course and will be speaking to them and visiting to have a look around in due course, but it’s always good to hear from people who don’t have a vested interest in an organisation.
So far positives seem to be a decent sized fleet with more than one of each type, multiple runways, good online reviews, price, payment plan and having in house engineering.

Hey, I trained at Perth many moons ago under a different management. I had good experiences back then but it is arguably even better now. Upper management are current airline captains, FOs or senior in airport ground handling. Not just bosses after the profit, they know the industry!
Seneca's in my day, now upgraded to DA42s. SEP training is all done on refurbished Cessna's too, with a couple of Pipers available for hire.
Scotland as an hour building location is just stunning. And, not forgiving in certain cases. Good weather training, mountain flying and busy GA airspace all to learn from. Perth is also home to Scottish Aero Club, decent fly in events etc.
Perth has onsite accommodation (Sky Lodge hotel) which does decent bed and continental breakfast rates for students. Decent greasy spoon cafe as well called Touchdown Cafe.
All that aside, I am probably biased as I trained there a while ago, but it's a great facility now and lovely people. Experienced instructors too, rather than just fresh folk waiting on jobs. Generally cheaper than down south too.
My overall biggest recommendation to anyone is to visit the site, see their instructors/facilities/airplanes, talk to real students there too - they'll advise the best. Loganair takes a steady stream of new pilots from ACS (they like folk that have flown in Scotland before), as well as all other UK flying schools.
