Finish CPL- yes or no?

Guys,

I need your help quickly...

I started my CPL/MEP in November of 2019. I am known to have motion sickness pretty badly and despite that, due to the situation in the world of recruitment of new pilots- I went the flight instructor way and didn't do the IR. due to the pandemic, I had a flight here, 3 months break, flight there, two flights here and two flights there.
My initial plan was to test if the motion sickness goes away when I will fly a lot, but that didn't happen thanks to the pandemic and the flights were spreaded over months.
My flight school has contacted me saying that they think I will have problems becoming a flight instructor with the motion sickness issue, and I agree. the problem is, now that the world has turned crazy, is that I have no other options in the foreseeable future which makes me wonder if I should take a break and see where the wind blows. I am 5 hours on the twin and 9 hours of time building away from my CPL/MEP exam. Not sure if the Forum is only for Europeans so I guess it is worth mentioning that I have frozen ATPL and I am located in Europe obviously...

I have a month to finish the CPL before my time expires- I have received an extension until the end of August.

Right now I wonder if I should even finish the CPL, considering that I need to pay around 4000e from this moment to finish the CPL/MEP and am really not sure what I am going to do with it at the moment...

I would love to hear your thoughts, what would you do in my place? It's a very weird situation that I really didn't expect to be in now...

Thanks in advance! if there's any info missing, let me know.

How many hours do you currently have, guessing close to 200 if you’re close to finishing? I would also assume most of those were spend without being ill or you’d have been mad to continue. instructing will be the same, more you fly the better it is until you are totally acclimatised to it and no longer feel ill.

If you’re that close to finishing just load up on ginger and motion sickness tablets and push through. If you end up commercial then don’t worry, over 30 degrees of bank is an upset position

From where I’m sat it seems a real waste to just let it expire, what would you have spent the last 18 months working towards?

I had motion sickness from the start and did most of my PPL on drugs (approved). The only time I didn't experience motion sickness on a SEP/MEP was during 3 weeks of hour building in Arizona where i was flying 4-6 hours each day. I saw the VSI needle go from -1500 to + 1500 all day long and just burped proudly. Then during my CPL and IR training it came back. Choosing the FI path given that was a lousy mistake but I guess you don't need reminding of that. Finish it, Coke/Ginger Beer just before every flight (not a lot), and Tums indigestion tablets (one after the other). That's what did it for me during my CPL. Good luck.

you are right! I have decided to at least finish the CPL since it will never expire. I really hope that something will happen to the aviation industry and I will be able to do something with 250 besides flight instruction...
Thanks!

Hey and thanks for answering.
I initially planned to finish CPL do MCC and try to apply to one of the airlines... Unfortunately, after finishing my ATPL everything started going downhill and inform myself looking for another option... Technically, I haven't spent any money on FIC what so ever, but I am just scared that airlines are not going to be an option now, which will leave me with CPL and no job...

Thanks for the tips!

You might consider doing a SE IR to attach to the CPL.
When you consider that the ‘green shoots’ are appearing, upgrade the IR to ME, and then do the MCC/APS.
Hit the ground running.
