Best Flight Sim?

Hi All,

Just wondering what is the best flight sim to use these days for IFR famil / practice.
I have been out of the game for a while and looking to return from the bench.

I'm building a very basic synthetic trainer and I have an old copy of FSX which still works but was wondering if there is anything better these days.
I notice a lot of people praising Xplane.

Grateful for any advise.
Cheers BaZ

FSX will do fine for that purpose. Otherwise the "best" these days is X-plane.

My instructor recommended X-Plane because the flight model is apparently better. However, he also warned that you can develop bad habits very easily so you need to be careful about how you use it.

During my training, I used VOR Tracker on my iPad. It is also available for Android. It's a good enough, basic trainer.

:)

Thanks for the Advise all.
Will probably set up X-Plane as it isn't too expensive.

Have downloaded VOR Tracker App for the Android, what an excellent little training tool.
Simple to use and all the instrument presentation options that you need what ever level your pitching at, nice recomendation BJ

Cheers

There is also the good ol' Luiz Monteiro website with the VOR, HSI, RMI and ADF simulators... a fantastic (and free!) resource: luizmonteiro - About Online Simulators

I believe it even has offline versions available to download.
