Advanced Flight Training
I am currently based in West Yorkshire looking to start my PPL - with a view to complete the CPL and beyond in the future.
There are two airfields which are relatively close by Leeds Bradford which is the closest, however I believe I will experience many delays in training there due to the congestion, particularly during summer months.
Sherburn-In-Elmet is although a little further afield is close enough that it would not matter if a days flying was cancelled. The question is Advanced Flight Training or Sherburn Aero Club? Advanced is slightly more expensive but it part of the Wings Alliance (better in the long term).
Any suggestions or advice?

Breighton is worth a look for the PPL. What was once a fairly decent, dependable training establishment for CPL/IR at Leeds under Multiflight, is now a single DA42 with PTT with (in my opinion) poor management and lack of aircraft serviceability, or the owner taking it offline for a few days at random to make more money doing charters, and students being left treading water having their time wasted. Quite a lot of CPL/IR students have left mid way through training there due to those reasons, plus the weather at Leeds isn’t always the best. Can’t knock their CFI though, he’s a a top bloke. And DA42 (when it works) is a simple platform for doing the box ticking for MEP and IR in.
AFT definitely worth a look, or slightly further afield, CFT at Tatenhill who deliver a great product, plus CBIR. I also wouldn’t take any notice of who is or isn’t a “wings alliance” member, but where you can get decent training. Unfortunately, at your stage of the game you’ll fall for all the bullsh1t at the pilot roadshows about which school has the fanciest fleet, or how Virtual Aviation is the only place in town for MCC/JOC to get an airline job - when that simply isn’t true. I know many a person did their MCC (only, no JOC) on the king air sim at Leeds in the not too distant past that are now captains at Jet2.
Personally, I’ve trained with AFT at Sherburn, and PTT Leeds, as well as instructing at both PTT Leeds and York Flying School at Breighton. I did the MCC/JOC at Cardiff Aviation last October, who I can’t rate highly enough, then applied for one job at an airline, got it, and am now happily FO-ing my way around the UK in a turboprop for a regional.
My advice is get off your backside and drive out to these places for a look around, and try to meet people who are training there, or have recently finished to get an idea of what to expect. In the current climate, with people seemingly getting jobs all over the place, it doesn’t matter whether you trained on the cheap in Sweden or Poland, it’s just getting the piece of paper and an interview, and maybe putting off the idea of straight into the RHS of a 737/320 as your first job if you trained on the cheap until you’ve got some experience at a regional/freight company and an ATPL and 500hrs multicrew.

I suspect the Jet2 captains who did their MCC on the Kingair (as I also did ) started their flying on a turbo prop.
The Kingair was perfectly adequate to tick the box.
However EASA have now introduced the APS/MCC which any aspiring aviator needs to consider as the preferable option.
