I am currently doing the CPL/IR course to achieve a frozen ATPL. All I lack (apart from the IR!) at the moment are 25 night hours for a UK ATPL. Is it worth getting them and holding a UK ATPL whilst looking for a job,or should I stick with the CPL/IR frozen ATPL, save my dosh and look for a job with that? Advice would be welcome!

Check out the cost of night hours in the US - you can probably fly a 150 for about US$40 an hour, so it may be worth it. However, how long do you think it will take to achieve 25 night hours on the job? I can't see them being too hassled.

Thanks Clowns. As I have done the national theory papers (thanks Bristol!), when holding the national CPL/IR (Frozen ATPL), will I still be able to unfreeze it after the national licences close in June 2002 and achieve a JAA ATPL? Will I have to retake the JAA theory?
