SEP Rating Lapse

Hi All,

I'm currently hour building towards my CPL.

I've got to the magic 150 but I was rather stupid and forgot to renew my SEP rating for a time.

It was an honest mistake, I just completely forgot about it.

I've since renewed it but in the time between it lapsing and me renewing it I accumulated 45 hours.

No one pickle me up on this and the flying school were still authorising me to fly.

My question is what will the CAA's attitude be towards this?

My flying school say I may get away with it but that I should build another 50 anyway just in case which I suppose is sensible.

Has anyone else been in this predicament? If so what was the outcome?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

If you wanted to be 100% sure you would call the CAA. That way could lead to all kinds of unpleasantness.
If it were me, I'd probably do the extra hours, as cheaply as possible.
