Approach checklist question 737-800

From the checklist:

"Position landing gear lever down, flap lever to the 15 detent. Position engine start switches to CONT. Check RECALL"

What does detent mean?

What would "Check RECALL" be referring to in the above instance?

GPWS "PLUS HUNDRED"

What is the GPWS plus hundred check referring to in the approach to landing?

Thanks

You know 'detent' isn't specific to aviation?! You can always google it.

It's the bit that the flap lever locates into when you select a flap setting. There is a gate to prevent the flap lever moving past flap 15 inadvertently (and flap 1).

Plus hundred- call out made by the gpws aircraft system 100 feet above the minima you have selected on the PFD using the efis control panel.

Two detents on the 737

Flap 1 - for inadvertent movement above during a single engine go around to prevent flaps being moved beyond flap one

Flap 15- again standard go around all engine uses flap 15 so the detent again stops inadvertent movement beyond the 15 position.

Recall (RCL) Switch Push – • redisplays all caution and advisory EICAS messages, when respective non-normal condition exists • displays first page of messages when multiple pages exist • redisplays red box for parameters previously exceeded • displays RECALL indication for one second after switch released
