cadet selection course enrolment numbers for self sponcered cadets

Hi im about to go for an assesment day at one of the big flight traing company's and have been reading articles about cadets who try for an airline funded scheme only 2 or a very small number of the applicants get through.
(Ctc,oaa,fte Jerez )
I wondered if this is the same for those who are going it alone. Or if they are more lenient due to the money they will be getting or if they do not care
Thanks very much any advise will be good advise

As a guideline I went for a selection course with FTE last year, 8 of us attended, 2 of us were given offers there and then, 4 were asked to come back and re-sit parts of the assessment and 2 were told not to re-apply.

Not sure how this compares to other FTE selections or the process at OAA/CTC etc. I'm guessing the answer would be they have to set a standard, but aren't going to be quick to turn down such a large amount of money.

On my selection day at CTC, there were about 16 of us, 3 were going for ATP and the rest wings (but one chap who was not from the EU so he was going for icp only). 4 passed the pilapt assessment and progressed to the afternoon interview, 3 were wings and one 1 was ATP. All 3 of those that passed the pilapt and then did the subsequent interview got in and began a few months later. I never saw the ATP candidate again but that is perhaps normal, I don't know what the course lead time was for their AQCs. There was 1 that day that didn't pass the assessment although I did see them a few months later in groundschool after (I assume) re-doing the pilapt test leading to a course offer and the rest I didn't see again (although there is a chance I forgot what they may have looked at). It was the people that did well at the pilapt that impressed me most at the group exercise but that was probably co-incidence or some other bias factor.

Thumbs up FTE Assessment

So How did you get on in your Assessment @ FTE??

I'm due to sit the assessment in March and not sure what to expect really??
I've gone over all the "pre test guide" material they send you but anxious to know is it more difficult are there as many questions what the lay out of the exam is like :0 ?!?

I'm confident in all areas of Maths, however I never studied Physics in school but I am undergoing 1-2-1 tuition in basic/intro physics atm...

Any tips or insight into the test/ days in Jerez

Many Thanks!!
