I think people who complain here to much are baned? why?

do you think a pilot can make a living today in aviation?

I visit some other websites, and everywhere it' s very negative.

I got no sniff of a job in 2.5 years, and I don't think an airline will call me.
I don't even know where to apply anymore, so many CV sent , and nothing.

are we all doomed? how it is in other professions?

hope I won't be baned!

well I can only tell you this: this year I graduated as a bachelor in engineering. I didn't even look or ask for jobs, though I got plenty of opportunities to get one. Around 5 to 10 companies contacted me and asked me if I was interested in a job position. I didn't even look for one because I'm getting my masters degree!

And to be honest, some of those companies were even airlines (did a bachelor in aeronautical engineering), but most of them were out of the aviation industry.
Not every aviation related degree is bitterness and sadness
My investment here in Belgium: 650€ a year, around 300 for books and ect. I live with my parents so living costs are on them. And even when I wanted I think I could do it on my own. As a student we have a special tax system when we work.

Great stuff Poeli

Ahh Poeli......bully for you old boy!

Just don't come crying to these hallowed forums of aviation awesomeness about what a bunch of bastards pilots are when your bored girlfriend comes back from a 'girlie night out' stinking of aviation fuel and hero. That's right.....if you look closely you will even spot a dab of wax from my immaculate moustache on her rumpled blouse.

However, you may need to cover the bar tab run up under her name after my credit card bounces.......!

ahaha, in ur dreams!!!! companies don't contact you. please go away.

it s easy to loose money, make money is near impossible, and even if you make some money, it won't cover all your bills.

I enjoyed reading this post, and the elements are so true.

I am so glad I invested in my career, and took all the chances I did, despite being kicked in the bollocks so many times.

Flying is a great way to make a living .
