Ibertour

Hi,

Does anyone have any real experience with Ibertour in Girona Airport, Spain?

I saw on their website that they are doing APTL (frozen) + CPL + PPL + SE + ME + IR, 800 ground school hours and 200 flight hours. It take 18 months and costs €39,995 inlcuding accommodation or €34,995 ex-cluding accommodation.

Has anyone had any good, bad or indifferent experiences with them? Or any reviews about their training or condition of aircraft, etc.

Thanks.

Hey dc3 i was looking at their site as well... Seems too good to be true!! Hopefully someone on here has some experience of them. It looks to me like more of a 1 stop modular course, rather than an integrated. But if i heard good stories about them, i would be over there in a jiffy.

737, I sent you a PM cause I'm very interested too, but I think that we better discuss about it here publicly, so anyone interested can see...

hey guys!

I would be really interested to know more about Ibertour, I just found them, yesterday, but they do not have any details for the ATPL frozen and 40 000 is the max sum I would get for my loan so seems just about right, but I do not know what to think of it..

Please post anything you might know. i have emailed them but no reply back yet.

Many thanks!

Ibertour

I contacted them and they said that the cost does not include exam fees. I wonder what else it does not include.

Exam fees are never included for any school I've heard of be it modular or integrated since you pay them not to the FTO but to the country CAA(except maybe Egnatia in Greece) And by the way check for landing fees too, I was told Girona has them up now at 60 euros. For a Cessna! Believe it or not. But they actually PAY Ryanair to land their 737's over there. Twisted world.

Cool Ibertour

Hi All

New Wannabe in town!!

I've looked at Ibertour as well and emailed them for further details and their reply is below:

Thank you for your interest in Ibertour International Aviation.

The cost of 39995 € includes the ATPL (A) modular course and accommodation for 18 months. Apartments are brand new, construction finished this month.

The theory exams, skill tests, medical expenses and landing fees outside of Girona Airport are not included in the total price. Why?

- Theory exams: Prices depending on pass/fail. - Official prices

- Skill tests (flight exams): Prices depending on pass/fail. - Official prices

- Medical exam: Some students want to do their medical exam in their own country prior to arrival. - Official prices

- Landing fees outside Girona Airport: Students decide themselves where they want to fly. Prices vary from airport to airport. - Official prices

The total price - all included - will be around 43000 € - 44000 €.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us!

Best regards,

Ibertour FTO

Not sure if modular is the best way to go but I'll trudge trough the other threads to find out more.

About landing fees: for what I could understand, this year AENA rules have changed and they introduced minimums that at Girona are 52,90€. But they don't apply to training flights that pay 4,60/ton.

http://www.aena.es/csee/ccurl/927/41...%20febrero.pdf

About the school: a guy in the spanish forum told me that he has a friends doing hour building at Ibertour and he has nothing to complain with them. He also told me that he is doing a modular course in Madrid with Aerofan

AEROFANFTO

the total price of PPL+CPL+SE-IR+ATPL theory+50 hours C152 with them is 32450€, another good option. But I think I'll fly Girona soon, I only want to have a little chat with someone of the already started course to sign with Ibertour. Maybe we'll see there?

Happy landings, mates!

yeh, I got similar email, too. The good advantage might be the accommodation included and life in Spain is hopefully not extremely expensive, so really could work out around 45000 all together, I suppose. If anyone pazs them a visit, let us know pls!

Many thanks!

Hi Petra, if the max you can get it €40K and the course is €39K you could end up in troubles.
If you need more hours than minimum to go for a check, or if you fail a check and therefor have to go back and fly more and pay for another checkride then you will go over the max 40000 you've got. And what will you allocate for all the extras you will need. Books, uniform, headset, bags, charts, calculators etc not even talking about food, means of travel etc!!!

Does anyone know how much it would be for the frozen ATPL if you already have the PPL?

I went to check out Ibertour recently. I already have my CPL but I hadn't flown in awhile so I asked if I could get a lesson to just fly around.

Their facility is new, and they are expanding the building to include a new classroom. The head of training has been flying for 12 years, and I flew with him and he was a great person to fly with who is passionate about instructing. They have 4 aircraft, 3 C172s and one Seneca with plans to acquire more when they are maxed out on capacity. They one plane that I did fly appeared to be in better condition than the aircraft I am used to flying. I did most of my training in the states at a school regarded to have the best maintenance around, so take it for what it's worth.

And since their planes are based out of Girona, they have several instrument approaches available including NDBs. I am not sure why people think a Spanish IR is not worth anything, but we flew some approaches and we flew them exactly as they should be flown.

Overall, I was impressed with their setup considering that they just started up. If I were looking for a FTO tomorrow at a good price with adequate training, in a good location, I would attend Ibertour. Just my two cents

Cool

Hi there,

any News about Ibertour @ Girona?
I am very interested too.

I'd like to sell my Appartement for the complete course ;-)

One important question for me:
Would they allow to take my Dog with me for the 18+ months?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Has anyone had any success yet through this company as this is based outside UK and wondering if i have to think twice?

And also is PPL cheap to do here in UK or best to do the whole course they offer.

Thanks
