Good flying schools in America

Hi, not sure if this is the correct place to post this but.

I'm currently thinking about traveling from Australia to America to do my PPL and CPL, can anyone recommend some good schools in the States? and maybe what state is the best for flying?, I've never been to America so have no clue, perhaps a school that isn't over crowded, has a good pass rate, friendly staff and instructors and has a well maintained fleet, and are not just interested in money.

Cheers.

Arizona, Florida, and Southern California are good places to do training. I did mine in Arizona. There are lots of good weather days, the downside being lack of real IFR training. Some good schools include ATP ATP Flight School: Airline Pilot Training & Pilot Career Development , Sonoran Wings www.sonoranwings.com , and Scandinavian Aviation Academy Scanavia . Not sure which ones ofer visas and I don't know about any schools in Florida. I also did some training in Colorado and the weather was generally good. Texas weather is not bad but living in Texas will make you fat hhehe.

California, Florida and Arizona all have good and bad weather, depending on what season you choose to begin your training.

Historically all the flying states have been the Southern states:
  • California
  • New Mexico
  • Arizona
  • Texas
  • Louisiana
  • Missisipi
  • Alabama
  • Georgia
  • Florida

This is still the case with probably Florida having the most airports considering the size of the state and the population.

Some good schools, some bad and a lot in between.
What is your ultimate goal?

Check out Angel City Flyers in Long beach. I did my ppl there and was impressed, but they do only teach FAA, not sure if you want a CASA equivalent. They all use glass screen planes

Weather was vairable when I was there, just pot luck I guess. PM me if you want more info.

NB I do not work there, just a happy ex-student

If you like Diamond airplanes look in to Falcon Aviation Academy in georgia.
Big fleet of DA20/40/42. The 40s and 42s are all G1000.
