Does a single engine IR count.....

Does getting a single engine IR within the 36 months save the exam credits allowing an upgrade to multi IR at a later date without having to resit the exams?

p.s - I've tried lasors and search but didn't find an exact answer.

Yes, it counts. Once you have your CPL with any IR (multi or single) on it, you can forget all about the exams. To upgrade it to an ME/IR you would then need a) a suitable type or class rating (eg. MEP), b) 5hrs training and c) pass the IR skills test again in the multi.

Excellent - Thanks for the response. Am looking for ways to keep costs low while no chance of a job. Really don't want to do those exams again though.
