JAA Radiotelephony license transferable to UK lic.?

Just a quick question I'd appreciate an answer on.

If holding a JAA radiotelephony license (Austrian to be specific) would I have to do the same one in the UK again if doing further training (my FAA CPL conversion) there or could I just convert it from one JAA state to another?

Hope this makes sense
Thanks ia.

It is my understanding that in order to get a UK JAA CPL issued you need to hold a UK R/T licence (evren if you hold another JAA R/T licence). For this you need to do the written exam as part of your ground exams and a practical oral exam with a UK R/T examiner.
