Question about currency after fATPL

Hello everyone.

I have a question regarding the currency of oneself after completing training to the level of fATPL.

Although searching I cannot find a specific answer to my question.

If I had an fATPL with 250 hours say and I wanted to instruct for a few years in Canada, what, other than an FI rating, would I have to do/have converted to do this? And if I then returned to the UK, what would I have to do to be current in terms of ready for airline jobs?

Hope you can help, or point me in the right direction.

Thanks

PP

for your fATPL you need to keep you IR current. if its expires, and you leave it seven years, you loose your 14 exams which means you will have to sit them again for your ATPL status.

happened to a friend of mine. had flown jets some years ago and hit some bad luck.was instructing CPL students during the weekends.... during the week he was sitting in a classroom with me and the other guys re doing all exams. the caa did cut him some slack though... they let him off the VFR/IFR comms exams!!

See, they do have a heart!

Ok so that is seven years, what about more short term, 1/2 years? And what about then coming back to the uk?
