I was modular and my first job was on the 320/21 with a well known charter company and loving every second. Not too sure if that makes 80% though

Even if 80% is accurate, it would be important to know what type of jobs are involved, how long it took to get them, how much self-improver work experience at various low wage jobs was involved, and how many were SSTRs or pay-to-fly types, etc.
Indeed! I remember a training company in my field that claimed a 100% employment success rate after completing their course. What they neglected to say was that the employment was necessarily anything to do it, so they could have ended up leaving the industry and working for Mothercare, Pizza Hut or themselves - but hey that 100% success rate in their books!

OAT Skills assessment

Does anyone have any experience of the OAT skills assessment and what it involves?

Any pointers will be appreciated into the content and what level I need to revise at?

Firstly i'm not a newbie, I lost my password and rejoined as it was easier, but have been on this site for about 3 years now reading the threads with interest and some of the responses are less than informative but It's quite strange to see all the various responses to this one, none negative just differing opinions due to personal experiences which makes a change, at the end of the day it IS personal choice based on both recommendations, opinions and budget.
I completed mine kind of via a mish-mash route.
PPL for some years.
Modular attending Oxford Ground Schools which i have to admit that 90% was excellent, the 10% reserved for the lecturers who believed they shoudn't be wasting their time on us.
It was common knowledge that their best performng students were put forward for the interviews so it looked good on them if they all got a job!
BS question Bank revision prior to exams, passed all first time
ME IR In Bournemouth and CPL at my local school all whilst holding down a full time shift work job.
Having completed this in April and by perseverence, I have been offered a job flying A300's and start on November.
So, the question you have to ask yourself is,
What is best for you in both long term and cost effective it it's an isue.

Oh I Forgot to mention

I did apply when BACityExpress opened the applications and interestingly, although down right disgusting, they had no options for Modular students on their online application form. Go Figure! Their Loss, me thinks.

I'm just completing mod 2 of the exams and am looking to wrap up my training next year. I've yet to pick out someone for IR & CPL but I have got Oxford in mind for the combined JOC/MCC which at just over £4000, gives 25 grounding and 36 hrs 737-400 sim time, which seems incredibly good value.

Does anyone have experience of the joint MCC/JOC and what was it like?

Sounds like good value for money!

I went to EAAC in Bournemouth and just did the MCC on their ex-ryanair 737-200 which was excellent but when i compare the cost of £2399.00 to that quote, yours seems better value for money.

currently completing phase 1 ground school @ oxford - mostly good so far but some of the ground intructors are crap and i wish i could tell them where to go! anyhow...

Like i said, some really come across as though they are wasting their time on Modular students, How wrong they are!

The one member of staff who instructs for Met is Excellent...

thatscaptaintou - the MCC/JOC at OAA is very well taught. Its probably the best part of the APP programme and I have heard nothing bad said about it. The instructors are all ex-airline and have a wealth of experience between them.
The sims aren't the most amazing things in the world (visuals are a bit naff), but they are modern, full motion and are very well maintained. If you haven't flown a jet before, you'll love it.

Hey guys,

I read quite a few threads about Oxford Waypoint.
I still can't decide whether to only take the ATPL's and MCC at Oxford and do CPL/IR/ME somewhere else?
Or simply do everything with Oxford??

Any experiences?
