What sort of "first jobs" are available in NZ?

Can you tell me what sort of first job I can expect to apply for in NZ, and for what sort of pay?

I am a bit of an old timer (34), UK citizen with an NZ wife wanting to give up my job to become a pilot in NZ or Oz. I just can't decide whether to go for the CASA Advanced Diploma+ATPL or the NZ CPL+IR+Multi.

The advantages of the NZ route that I can see are:
1 - cheaper integrated courses (e.g. IAANZ and Nelson Aviation College charge approx NZD62,000, but Western Australian Aviation College charges approx AUD62,000 = NZD79,000)
2 - cheaper cost of living in NZ (as far as I can tell)
3 - easy route to NZ residency and work permit (thanks to NZ wife...)

But I have no idea what sort of job to expect to apply for upon completion of the NZ course... can you help???

Cheers,
U287
