Smile MCC Thumbs Up for Eurporean Aviation Bournemouth

Hello,

Just to continue a theme the chaps and ladies down at European have a nice mix of professional training and a relaxed attitude. As I am sure most of us newly qualified frozen ATPL's can testify this is not the case at all training providers.

Cannot agree with the chap who suggests the MCC is not going to give you an advantage when in comes to the all important sim check. Being in a full motion 737 for the first time is fairly overwhelming and 20hrs experience (hands on flying or not) has to help.

They are very good in making the sims available for extra stuff if not booked but this is all very much dependent on demand. Your not going to go far wrong if you do decide on a trip to sunny Bournemouth.

Cheers!

I did my MCC at European last November (one of the first to use the 737 incidentally). With hindsight, and having subsequently been through a sim assessment, JOC and type rating course on EFIS sims, the MCC was a huge boost - both for my scan and for developing a feel for hand flying large aircraft.

The training benefits of hand-flying a raw data ILS on clockwork instruments are obvious, and it doesn't matter how good an FNPT II is, it simply doesn't have the feel and feedback of a full-motion sim. Looking at the combination of equipment and price, I'd say European are pretty hard to beat.

The instruction was also some of the best I've experienced anywhere.

The simulator side of the business is still running and doing MCC courses as normal.
